Venue Brian Cox Studio TheatreScottish Youth Theatre, The Old Sheriff Court, 105 Brunswick Street, Glasgow, G1 1TF

Commemorating 400 years since the death of William Shakespeare, Glasgow Film Theatre and Scottish Youth Theatre will host this special screening of two stories from BBC Shakespeare: The Animated Tales, featuring the voice talents of Brian Cox and Zoë Wanamaker. In Macbeth, a high-ranking general sets out to become King of Scotland, only realising too late the consequences of his actions. In The Tempest an exiled sorcerer casts a violent storm in order to bring the men who wronged him to his fantastical island, where nothing is as it seems.

Is Shakespeare still relevant today? Following the screening we will be hosting a conversation with young people about Shakespeare’s significance in the modern world.
