Scottish Youth Theatre National Ensemble

No Participation Fee!
Auditions will be held January & February 2017 across Scotland
Registration is now closed.

As part of our 40th anniversary celebrations, we are delighted to announce the launch of a new National Ensemble for young people.

The Ensemble will be a fantastic opportunity for you to challenge and develop your theatrical skills by collaborating with some of the most influential theatre makers working in Scotland today. Membership will last at least a year and during that time you will attend development weekends across Scotland and present a production in summer 2017.

The aim of the Ensemble is to develop you as a theatre-maker, so in addition to performance you will also explore writing, directing and production. You will actively contribute artistically to the evolution of the Ensemble as the year progresses. You will also have the opportunity to gain a higher level qualification.

Scottish Youth Theatre National Ensemble will extend the progression routes and networks for those hoping to enter higher education and young people who are committed to a career in the performing arts.

Registration is now closed but auditions are ongoing

The main audition will consist of two parts:
•    2 hour group workshop
•    An individual opportunity to perform prepared pieces

The audition process will start with a group drama workshop where you will be observed for your creative input, ability to work as part of an ensemble, ability to contribute to group pieces and problem solving. You will need to have a devised monologue (see below) prepared for use in the workshop.

Individual Audition Pieces
