News: Scottish Youth Theatre COVID19 Update

As the country begins to ease out of lockdown and more facilities, shops and venues begin to reopen, we thought it useful to update you on Scottish Youth Theatre.

 

We continue to deliver the National Artistic Programme online. New opportunities for young artists will be announced soon.

 

Currently the Scottish Youth Theatre venue in Glasgow remains closed. This will continue to be the case until we can guarantee the safety of staff, young people, audiences and the public in general. Our building is a complex space that is used in many different ways and therefore requires extensive risk assessments, appropriate safeguarding and monitoring before we can safely reopen. We don't anticipate this to be before August and is likely to be later.

 

We don’t expect Weekly Workshops to begin in September as they normally would. Bringing large numbers of young people, tutors and staff together from various geographical locations to enclosed spaces, currently poses too high a risk for us to be confident of providing a safe environment. Any updates to this will be posted on our website and social media channels.
