WE’RE REACHING OUT TO YOU, AS YOUNG emerging and early-career THEATRE-MAKERS, TO UNDERSTAND HOW WE CAN BEST SUPPORT YOU AND YOUR DEVELOPMENT.

We recognise it’s a really challenging time to be a young artist developing your career and practice. Whether you’re studying a theatre-related subject at college or university, or are in the early stages of your career, we’d really like to understand what support and connections you would find most beneficial in a testing time for the sector. The responses you share with us will be used to inform the actions we take in 2024 and beyond.

Thank you to everyone for the responses they submitted as part of the survey. Over 90 young people shared their experiences of studying, training and working in the industry as young theatre-makers – what has gone well for them and where gaps in access and provision persist. We are currently analysing the data which will form an insight report detailing young artists’ needs across Scotland, which will be published soon.
