Scottish Youth Theatre's national programme is committed to cultivating the next generation of Scottish theatre-makers, innovators
and activists.


Participants collaborate with acclaimed practitioners who inspire them to experiment, take risks and ultimately create groundbreaking theatre across Scotland.

Each programme is fully accessible, delivered in locations across the country, with no fee to participate and bursaries available for additional costs.

 

NATIONAL ARTISTIC PROGRAMMES

Scottish Youth Theatre National Ensemble
Scotland’s national touring company for young people interested in making cross-art form radical political theatre.    

Making Space
An ongoing emerging artist residency programme, delivered nationally with host partners and festivals across Scotland.  

Elevate
A training programme for aspiring artists who want to explore and develop their skills in site-specific theatre-making.

Generator
A national professional development programme which will equip young creatives with the knowledge and resilience to thrive in the Scottish theatre sector.

Grease 4.0
A European partnership project with Przedsiebiorczego (Poland) and Teatro Metaphora (Portugal). Scottish Youth Theatre selected 10 theatre-makers from across Scotland to represent the country in Poland in June 2019.

Now You See Me (Digital Collaboration)
A partnership project with the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland to create new digital work and connect communities and artists.  

Groundswell
A large-scale participatory arts project investigating land, heritage and migration.  

 

There is no fee to participate in any of the national programmes.
