Elevate at An Lanntair

In partnership with An Lanntair, Stornoway

July 2019

A free training ground during Summer for aspiring young theatre makers aged 14-18 interested in exploring site specific performance.

During the week young artists collaborated with theatre maker Fraser MacLeod and composer/sound designer Ross Brown to create a site-specific performance which celebrated home. Using mobile phones and a loop pedal they created their own soundscape and performed their own work responding to the local island environment.

Elevate is specifically aimed at young people ready to take the next step in their journey as theatre makers, whether that be applying to a higher education institute or registering for the Scottish Youth Theatre National Ensemble.

Participation was completely free with support from the Educational Institute of Scotland and The Theatre Development Trust.
