SEEKING 4 YOUNG ACTORS FOR NEW WRITING SHOWCASE

We are seeking 4 young actors for roles with specific lived experience to perform in some of the new plays as part of the Trajectories New Writers showcase at A Play, A Pie and A Pint in January 2026.
Written by emerging playwrights and directed by Fiona Mackinnon, these early-stage plays invite you to question, examine and absorb the compelling stories these young writers have to tell. Stories that explore identity, belonging and possibility in Scotland’s evolving new writing landscape.
Actors must be available for 1-2 days of rehearsals between 12th – 17th January (exact dates to be confirmed) and for the showcase performance dates on 16th and 17th January 2026. Please note; these roles are for Scotland-based performers only.
The fee is £145 per day. All rehearsals and performances will take place at A Play, A Pie and A Pint’s venue in Òran Mór, Glasgow on the above dates.

SHOW 1 – WEST (COW)LDER
Synopsis:
In this coming-of-age comedy drama, three Deen High School students take on a high-stakes hiking trip offering a Hajj package and fast-track university entry. Stranded in the countryside, they face unseen presences, storms and cows while confronting their fears of nature, faith and the unpredictability of the wild.

SHOW 2 – BRITISH WILDLIFE
Synopsis:
A public footpath. A camera lens. A local MP. And a pair of very nice red stiletto heels. British Wildlife is a short play for two actors about public spaces, private lives, and a well-timed photo with explosive consequences.
