A BEHIND THE SCENES LOOK AT THE TRAJECTORIES NEW WRITERS FINAL EVENT, THE WORK THAT WENT INTO IT AND WHAT IT’S LIKE TO BE AN ARTIST WITHIN THE TRAJECTORIES PROGRAMME.

What really happened behind the scenes of Trajectories New Writers? Find out more about the process of writing 5 brand-new plays and what it was like for the early-career artists taking part in the programme.  

The Trajectories New Writers showcase event took place on Friday 16 and Saturday 17 January 2026 at A Play, A Pie and A Pint, Glasgow. Audiences were invited to two days of performances, witnessing plays about pilgrimage, data mining, faeries, lollipop ladies and red stilettos. 

Trajectories is a fully supported bursary programme investing in early-career artists making new performance work in Scotland, delivered through a combination of in-person and online workshops, masterclasses and rehearsals.
